The name BoomTown is a tribute to the hardworking men and women who paved the way of the turn-of-the-century mining boom of copper and iron. In the late 19th and early 20th century, Duluth's port handled more tons yearly than New York City. With Minnesota being colder weather most of the year, BoomTown Woodfire Grill brings a warm inviting atmosphere decorated with photos of the miners who brought the growth and prosperity to Duluth, Minnesota. On those colder winter days, you can relax to the warmth of the fire and feel cozy surrounded by the wooden walls. The owners of BoomTown Woodfire Grill, Jess and Erik Lietz, wanted to create an atmosphere where people would feel comfortable and at ease while enjoying their meal and time with others.
My Experience
Duluth, Minnesota is a place that I travel too often. However, there was a trip where I had to bounce around the outside area for a couple of events. While traveling around I noticed the name BoomTown on a restaurant building. When I arrived in Hibbing, Minnesota for my first event I was curious to what this BoomTown restaurant was all about. It looked nice and felt welcoming, at least from the outside. Once I got inside, I was very pleased with what I saw. It was a comfortable setting, and it was very interesting seeing all the historical photos of the miners. I was just as pleased with the atmosphere as I was with the food. I had ordered the firecracker kabobs. The vegetables were so fresh, and the meat was tender. It was a true delight! The only disappointment I had was that I didn't have my proper camera with to take photos of my experience. Later in my travels, I headed off to Duluth. There it was, another BoomTown Woodfire Grill! This time I had my camera. The food was great just like their Hibbing location. The building had a different layout but had the same welcoming warm atmosphere. It's no surprise that there are three separate locations of BoomTown Woodfire Grill. Their locations are in Duluth, Hibbing, and Eveleth, Minnesota. I know I will be going back to fill my list of trying all three. This time I'll have my camera ready to share with all of you!
